What Does Self-Care Look Like for Your Business?
March 2, 2026

We’ve been talking all month about self-care.
The kind that involves sleep, walks in the sunshine, facials, hydration, reading a good book. The kind that fills you back up.
But today, I want to ask a slightly different question:
What does self-care look like for your business?
Because your business needs tending, too.
Your Business Is a Living Thing
It’s easy to get caught up in serving your clients, which we love doing. That’s why we started our businesses in the first place.
But when we’re constantly giving, producing, responding, and delivering… we can neglect the structure that supports it all.
And that’s where business self-care comes in.
For me right now, business self-care looks like this:
In April, I’m heading to Nashville for a messaging seminar with the StoryBrand team. I’ve wanted to attend one of Donald Miller’s workshops for years. The timing never quite lined up -- until now.
And now I’m going.
That’s intentional.
That’s alignment.
That’s business self-care.
Business Self-Care Is About Fine-Tuning
Self-care for your business doesn’t mean doing more.
It means doing what allows it to run more smoothly, more authentically, and more sustainably.
It might look like:
-
Hiring a bookkeeper if you dread your financials
-
Updating your website so it reflects who you are now
-
Refreshing your brand photography
-
Refining your messaging
-
Hiring a VA to free up your time
-
Investing in a coach or mentor
The question isn’t, “What should I do?”
The question is:
Where does my business feel tight, heavy, or misaligned?
That’s the place asking for care.
Alignment Creates Ease
When your business is aligned, everything feels lighter.
Your messaging feels clear.
Your offers feel authentic.
Your systems feel supportive.
You stop pushing and start flowing.
And that’s what I’m aiming for in Nashville – clarity, resonance, refinement.
Because when the business feels supported, it supports you back.
Your Turn
This week, I want you to ask yourself:
What would self-care look like for my business right now?
Not next year.
Not someday.
Now.
And what small step could you take toward that?
As always, what I hope for you is that you live a life you love without giving up the things that bring you joy.
