The healthy reset your body, brain, and business actually need this fall.
August 28, 2025

There’s a crisp, cool feel of fall in the air today. Don’t worry, summer will be back this weekend, but for now, it’s feeling like a seasonal shift.
And with that shift comes the question I hear every year:
“Should I do a detox?”
My answer?
Please don’t.
Not that kind of detox anyway.
Let’s Redefine the Word "Detox"
When most people talk about detoxing, they’re talking about restriction, cutting out sugar, skipping meals, or doing a liquid cleanse for a few days to make up for a “messy” summer.
That’s not how we do things here.
Because true wellness isn’t about punishing your body, it’s about supporting it. It’s about making intentional, sustainable choices that fuel your goals.
Fall Reset? Yes. Deprivation? No Thanks.
Instead of a restrictive detox, I recommend something we come back to every fall:
Back to basics.
This is a perfect time to hit the reset button, not with extremes, but with thoughtful changes that help clear space and create momentum.
Start with your environment, both physical and mental:
-
🧼 Clean out your pantry. Get rid of expired items or foods that no longer support your goals.
-
🧴 Refresh your medicine cabinet. Toss anything that’s expired or collecting dust.
-
👕 Organize your closet. Make it easy to reach for clothes that make you feel amazing.
-
🌱 Take inventory of your habits, your time, and even your relationships.
What’s supporting your next chapter, and what’s just taking up space?
Detox = Letting Go of What No Longer Serves You
Here’s a better definition of detox:
A process of releasing what doesn’t serve you, so you can make space for what does.
That could mean:
-
Clearing mental clutter.
-
Saying no to draining commitments.
-
Unsubscribing from toxic narratives (or toxic people).
-
Making room for more joy, flavor, energy, and clarity.
And yes, all of this matters for your body, brain, and business.
You Know Where You Want to Go
We’ve been talking about goals all summer. So now, ask yourself:
-
What still needs to shift to get there?
-
What’s standing in the way?
-
What small step can I take this week?
Remember: Rome wasn’t built in a day.
You don’t have to toss everything out and start over.
You just have to start. One shift at a time. 1% at a time.
Fall is a powerful season for transition. And with just a few intentional changes, you can walk into it with more energy, clarity, and joy.
