The Beauty of an Easy Plan
There is a famous saying that goes, "Failing to plan is planning to fail."
How do you feel about that? Do you think that's true? Partially true? Totally false? Well, regardless of how you feel about it, what I do believe is that there's something elegant, comfortable, and joyful about having a simple plan.
I recently organized a full-day event which took a lot of planning and work, but with the support of my team and all the speakers, we pulled it off. And it's a great reminder that we can achieve big things by taking it one step at a time and making a plan (and revising as needed - more about that another time).
There's another saying that goes, “how do you eat an elephant”? One bite at a time is the answer, and that's what I want you to take away from this with regard to your health, your nutrition, and any goals that you are working on, do it one step at a time. Plan one thing at a time.
And here’s why - if you're feeling overwhelmed with your health or wellness goals, you may want to throw up your hands and say, “I don't know how to do this. I don't wanna do this. It's too much work.” That’s okay, take a step back, take a deep breath, and focus on doing just one thing.
What's the first step you can take to move forward? Just focus on 1%, that’s all you need.
Keep asking yourself that question, and you'll find yourself making progress toward your goal.
