An Adventure Focused on More Than Just Food

An Adventure Focused on More Than Just Food

Let me paint a picture for you - I was surrounded by stunning mountains, and even though that day was a bit foggy, I was eagerly anticipating the moment when the mist would clear and reveal the breathtaking views.

As I looked out at that scenic landscape, I couldn't help but reflect on the different kinds of getaways we embark on. Usually, I'm the first to dive into the world of foodie vacations, documenting each delectable dish and savory delight. However, this time, my travels have led me to explore a different path - one focused on the trio of "eat, move, and recharge."

I must admit, it was a refreshing change. Our days were filled with activities that revolved around fun and fitness. One morning, it was all about volleyball. Such a great change of pace to be playing against the backdrop of those majestic mountains. And while we might have had some thunderstorms in the forecast later, it didn't dampen our spirits. After all, a little rain never hurt anyone, right?

But wait, you might be wondering: what about the food? Don't worry, we didn't skip out on good eats altogether. While we weren't on a typical foodie adventure, we still maintained our PFC3 balance (protein, fats, and carbs). Our meals were nourishing and satisfying, but they weren't the main focus of our trip.

Instead, we embraced the essence of Vermont's natural beauty and blended it with our passion for staying active. A few hours of volleyball and pickleball each day kept us moving and laughing, and in between, we indulged in delicious lunches with friends. Oh, and did I mention the hot tub sessions? They were like a cherry on top of our wholesome vacation, offering that perfect mix of relaxation and rejuvenation.

The beauty of that experience was that it wasn't about choosing between one thing or another. It was about harmonizing all aspects of well-being. It was about recognizing that balance wasn't just about a single thing.

Shifting focus from one passion to another was a skill we could all use a bit more of. Remember that glorious foodie adventure in Italy? That was amazing and mostly about the food.  And this time it was about basking in the thrill of action-packed days in Vermont. Each vacation had its unique charm, and embracing this diversity added a layer of richness to our lives.

Even better, our trip to Vermont offered more than just volleyball and pickleball. Evenings there were filled with bonfires, sing-alongs, and live music. It was a reminder that regardless of the weather, joy can always be found in the company of great people and shared experiences.

Sometimes, it's not about the food; it’s about the laughter, the camaraderie, and the memories we created together.

As I reflect on the adventure, I wanted to share a little secret with you all. We all have the power to shift our focus and cultivate happiness in unexpected ways. Whether it was hiking in the wilderness, engaging in stretching sessions, indulging in massages, or simply soaking in the beauty around us - there was an abundance of choices waiting to be explored.

And speaking of happiness, I had something exciting to share.
