How to Know When Your Battery is Full: Recharge Lessons from a Week in Vermont

It's been a remarkable week in VT for me, a time to rejuvenate and practice what I preach: the formula of Eat, Move & Recharge®.

This mantra has been my guiding principle, not just for myself but for my clients too. Amid the inspiring scenery, I've found the perfect setting to nourish my soul. Yet, there's an intriguing question that often arises: how do we figure out when we're fully recharged?

While some may find solace in staying put indefinitely, my personal barometer for when my battery is full, is often triggered by the emergence of a familiar itch. An itch to tackle those lingering tasks that have been patiently waiting on my to-do list. It's like a signal from within that my energy stores are replenished and I'm primed for action.

As my family readies itself for the next chapter – my kiddo is venturing off to college in such a short time – a mixture of excitement and melancholy swirl within me. The time we've spent together, against the backdrop of Vermont's serenity, has proven invaluable. We've fortified ourselves against all of the frenzied activity that’s on the horizon. With our tanks refueled, we're also embracing the readiness of returning to our own beds, yet another facet of our comfy lives at home.

But let's shift the focus to a concept that transcends these scenic Vermont landscapes. This fall, I'm set to unveil the revamped Reclaim Your Life, One Bite at a Time program, alongside groundbreaking mental wellness initiatives. These endeavors underscore the significance of balance, self-care, and growth. If your summer vacation left you yearning for renewal, if you're eager to traverse the path of evolution, let's join forces to propel you forward.

For some, this will make sense instantly. If you need a bit more convincing, maybe this analogy will help: the connection between our personal batteries and our gadgets'. Much like our smartphones, our brains and bodies require consistent charging to function optimally. The nuance lies in weaving these moments of recharge into our daily lives, not reserving them for a brief annual vacation. I've personally adopted this strategy, and with the recognition that (for me) periodic deep dives into recharge are equally crucial. A substantial annual (or semi-annual) break gears me up, igniting excitement for the journey ahead instead of dragging myself through each day.

As always, my hope for you is that you live a life you love! A life enriched by delectable nourishment, invigorating movement, and the pursuit of activities that spark your soul. Let’s remember to prioritize your recharge, both in nibbles and in bites.
