So, how’s your poop?

My son is almost 20, and when he was a toddler and out of diapers and toilet-trained, I thought I was finally done talking about poop. Little did I know… as a nutritionist, I quickly realized that discussing digestion is a huge part of the job. Your poop is a great indicator of how your digestion is going and what you might need to work on.

With summer here, we’re all out barbecuing, enjoying desserts, and maybe indulging in a few extra drinks. It’s the perfect time to talk about digestion and how to keep it running smoothly. Plus, I’ve got a new tool in my toolbox that has been helping me and my family with our digestion, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

Four Tips for Better Digestion

1. Drink More Water

Staying hydrated is crucial, especially when it’s hazy, hot, and humid like it is here in the Northeast. Water helps keep your digestion humming along. If you’re not a fan of plain water, try adding a squeeze of lemon, some essential oils that are safe to ingest, or even herbs + fruit for a refreshing twist. Electrolytes are great additions too, but make sure to read the label and avoid the artificial sweeteners. Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water throughout the day to keep everything moving smoothly.

2. Move Your Body

Especially in the morning, get your body moving to help kickstart your digestion. A little walk or some light exercise can make a big difference. Your digestion needs time and movement to do its thing properly.

3. Reduce Your Stress

I know, I say this a lot, but reducing stress can truly improve your overall health. Stress negatively impacts digestion, hormonal balance, and your mindset. Incorporate some chill time in the morning, stretch, do yoga, meditate, and breathe deeply. Plan ahead if you know a specific situation is stressing you out. Pop any stress-related questions in the comments, and let's work through them together.

4. Try Zive 7

Here’s the exciting news: Zive 7 has officially launched today! This supplement has been a game-changer for me and my family’s digestion. It's a seven-in-one product that includes a prebiotic, probiotic, digestive enzymes, and liver and kidney support. It’s NSF Sports certified, meaning it’s safe for professional athletes and Olympic athletes, and contains exactly what’s listed on the label. This is crucial because you need to know what you’re putting into your body.

Zive 7 has helped reduce brain fog, improved regularity, and alleviated symptoms of constipation, diarrhea, and IBS for many people. Of course, we can’t make medical claims, but if you struggle with digestive issues, give Zive 7 a try. I’ll put my link in the comments so you can check it out, read more online, and ask me any questions you have.

When your digestion isn’t working well, it can increase your stress and anxiety, which then worsens your digestion—a vicious cycle. By staying hydrated, moving more, reducing stress, and perhaps adding Zive 7 to your routine, you can feel better and improve your overall well-being.

I hope you live a life you love without feeling hungry, deprived, or giving up the things that bring you joy.

Stay healthy and happy!
