Create New Health Goals for a September Reset

I love empowering women who are ready to make a change. They may need a little help getting started as they learn to prioritize their health, and the best part of my job is getting to be their guide along the way. The first step in guiding them is always going to be finding out what their goals are for their health.

September is very much a time of reset for me. I know January is the typical choice for setting goals and making resolutions, but I’ve always been drawn to September as a time for new goals. The school year begins, so change is in the air. It’s also Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, making it the perfect time for me to reconsider all of my goals for my life and the upcoming year.

One thing I wish for all of the women I work with is that they have a clear set of goals for their health. I don’t mean the typical goal of losing ten or fifteen pounds, but the real foundational habits that will help them to live a healthier life.

Things like getting up at a regular time for a workout, making sure you drink enough water each day, or planning a retreat that fills your soul. These are real habits that will bring you towards your health goals.

I urge the women I work with to choose health goals that are a part of the eat, move, and recharge triangle. I truly believe that seeking health in these three areas are one of the keys to a happy life where you are able to do all of the things you love.

When we look at health goals, we look at things that are deeper than the numbers.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been reviewing my goals and considering where I’ve reached them and where I haven’t quite made it. One of my goals was to work on strengthening my body, and I have, but I didn’t quite get to where I wanted to be. I might have been too aggressive when setting my targets. Making realistic goals is just as important as setting the goal itself so that you are able to feel the success of reaching the finish line.

When I’m looking at making new goals, I love to bring in other people to partner with. For my nutrition goals this year, I’m partnering with Nitro Nutrition. We have an amazing community for accountability, motivation and fresh ideas, so we all keep moving forward. With their great products and awesome support system, I feel more confident in my ability to stay on track for myself and help my clients reach their own goals.

The last 18 months have been tough on all of us, so it hasn’t been easy to prioritize our personal health. I hope you’ll join me for a September reset as I’m starting Nitro Nutrition and working on my own health goals!
