Nutrition, Fitness, and Wellness articles for busy women who want to lead a healthy, fulfilled life they love.
I recently spent some time in Salt Lake City for a conference and had a great time there. Even though I was on the road, I didn’t want to derail my healthy lifestyle. During my trip, I still made time to eat, move, and recharge while I traveled.
One way I stuck to my plans while travelling was being willing to ask about menu tweaks. I ordered a delicious omelet, but asked the server to hold the meat and cheese and add in a few extra veggies. In the end, I was able to get exactly what my body needed for a tasty and healthy morning meal.
When I first arrived in Salt Lake City, I made a quick trip to the grocery store to stock up on snacks. I bought pretzels, hummus, and bottled water so I was never without a healthy choice. Packing protein powder for a meal replacement is a great option as well, but whenever possible, I like to try local food, so picking up a few healthy options made my trip easier and more enjoyable.
I love to recharge by going on a walk, and that didn’t change while I was on my trip. Taking a walk around a new neighbourhood allowed me to stretch my legs with some movement and clear my mind at the same time. I also reconnected with some old friends I hadn’t seen in years, and that was a great way for me to recharge socially.
Our day to day lives don’t always go according to plans, so it’s important to have an idea of how you can personally eat, move, and recharge even when you’re on the go. If you’re looking to do a reset sometime soon before the fall and winter holidays come around, leave me a comment below! I would love to help you brainstorm.
